It’s been a busy Summer so far amongst the Metanym Partners. We’ve been selling and building a variety of brochure websites and ecommerce stores. Our new SEO and Social Media services are also proving very popular.

But what is also interesting over and above that is, because of the training and support given to our Partners, plus the sort of people they are anyway, they are rapidly becoming THE source for web design advice in their local areas. This has led to a couple of really interesting out of the ordinary deals – one is a long-term project to correct and then enhance and in-house web-based system for a major multinational (sorry we’re not allowed to say who!), and the other is a deal to acquire the customers of another web design company local to the Partner who sourced the deal, without any capital investment (we are paying a commission to the selling party on new sales to those existing customers, up to a ceiling amount).

The key to sourcing both those deals has been NETWORKING – attending events and meetings and just being there, getting known , making contacts, and then BAM that opportunity comes out of the blue.

Find out more about how you can be a part of this by signing up to our email updates at the bottom of the website page.

Coming soon…..Lisa Wood, our latest Partner, joins us on 1 Sept covering the Wilmslow and South Manchester area…

Today saw the launch of not only a new service, but a special free offer on an existing service, both designed to drive more business to our Partners.

We have offered logo and branding design services for some time, but we have now formalised 3 fixed price great value logo design packages for the value market and the limited budget. The fact is that many new startups get a logo done first, before any other marketing literature or website, for the simple reason the logo goes on these. So by offering these budget packages, we are particularly hoping to catch start-ups early. Once we have delighted them with their new logo, we hope to keep their business for website, SEO, email marketing, social media……..etc!

And talking of email marketing, prompted by an idea from one of our partners, we have introduced an 3 month free trial offer on our professional email marketing software. We think users will be so bowled over by its features, they will definitely want to subscribe!

These are just two example of how we support our Partners in the field by constantly evolving our products and services.

Anything is possible!

At Metanym, we have long believed in the power of networking.

Most people don’t like making cold calls, and nobody likes receiving them. Cold selling just doesn’t work in the business to business marketplace.

We’d much rather build trust and long term relationships by getting involved in all types of networking activity, from physical meetings like BNI or Business Biscotti, to Social Media (online networking). It is a much more sustainable way of doing business – and much more enjoyable too. The BNI terminology (which we definitely agree with) is that you should be a “farmer” not a “hunter” – a hunter has to go out every day and make a fresh kill from scratch, whereas a farmer prepares the ground and sows the seed for long lasting benefit.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating though:

Last month, one of our partners secured a £10k project, just by being at a particular networking group, where someone’s partner, also a web programmer, needed some help on a major project for a large multinational company, which required a different programming language to the one he worked in. We stepped right in to help!

The previous month, another partner secured a £15k project, doing web development for another graphic designer, who specialises mainly in print work and who needed a website building to their design for a client, who the partner had met via an online networking forum (Yahoo Groups). We now have a burgeoning relationship with that designer and this is one of many projects we have and will deliver for them.

Those projects, and many others like them, were secured just by being there, and by being willing and able to help in a solid and professionally backed up way.

Probably the most lucrative “Hello, my name is…..” our partners have ever uttered!

Mark had this to say about the Metanym approach.

“I have been working with Metanym for just over six months with nearly two years experience of working as a website consultant. Before that, I had worked in sales and marketing for over 17 years. In assessing Metanym I was initially impressed by the ‘show, don’t tell’ approach and the ‘listen, don’t preach’ ethos which is critical in a true partnership. Metanym have some top programmers and designers, solid systems and a growth mentality but most importantly they want to listen and learn from partners and grow together. A successful Metanym partner brings something to the party or in awful corporate speak, ‘adds value’. Metanym listens, asks questions and helps to evolve ideas before implementing them, often speedily. If you have an entrepreneurial streak about you and the energy to network and grow your business then you will certainly enjoy the Metanym way of doing things.”

Matt Bartlett is Metanym Web Design’s Director in Newark and Lincoln.

Here he talks about his exeprience with Metanym to date:

“I have been working with Jon at Metanym since November 2010. I came to Metanym having owned a franchise in another organisation and working with Metanym has been like a breath of fresh air. The Metanym Partnership Programme is truly that, a partnership. Jon has actively listened to recommendations not only for new products and services (and implemented these extremely quickly) but also the general way of working. Each partner that joins the programme will bring different skills that other partners can utilise and this partnership approach is the Metanym way.

If you are selling a product or service it is extremely important that you too believe in it, otherwise a lack of confidence will show through. Metanym take the approach that each customer and their requirements are different and don’t try to offer a standardised product to each customer. This gives you confidence that the solution offered is right for the customer. Jon has been very supportive to both myself and other partners and has attended meetings with potential customers to add further weight and credibility to our proposals.

Unlike other franchise opportunities that are advertised the Metanym Partnership Programme has relatively low investment costs meaning that the period to generate a positive return is much lower. I am still in the very early days of my partnership with Metanym but I am very optimistic about the future income. Don’t expect easy money, you have to put in effort to gain rewards but the potential is great.”

But the best thing was that we came up with ideas together – and these were taken away and acted on quickly!
